Scott E. Strome, M.D. – Founding Scientist

Dr. Strome is the Executive Dean, College of Medicine, University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Previously he was Professor and Chairman of the Dept. of Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery (OTO-HNS) at the University of Maryland School of Medicine with a secondary appointment in Immunology and Microbiology. Earlier he was an Associate Professor of OTO-HNS at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine where he worked with and patented the use of anti-PD-L1 for the treatment of cancer with Lieping Chen, M.D., Ph.D. He received his M.D. from the Harvard Medical School and completed his residency in OTO-HNS at the University of Michigan. His research interest is in translational immunology, developing active and passive immunologic approaches for the treatment of malignant and autoimmune diseases.
